Blood Moon Poem

I wrote this poem on the blood moon

Enjoy!

Running after rings

See the pattern in the things

Thought myself so cool and clever

Discerned the path that stretched forever

Leading me to destiny

With confidence and certainty

Tracking as a hunter to a deer

Footsteps that were made so clear

Truth was found in hunger pangs

Propelling forward by my fangs

Till my body forced

By its fatigue

Brought itself

down to its knees

Upon a pause

My labored breath

Caught itself in emptiness

Silent in a golden gleam

A wink appeared behind the scenes

Your form was there between the trees

Folly became realized

And my heart was magnetized

I laughed so hard I couldn’t speak

strength was found when I was weak

I veered direction, went off course

Thorns and brambles pierced me to my source

A name echoed inside my ear

Dripping through the sweat of fear

Dark and lost I fell into the mud

Felt the Earth become my blood

Penetrated an harmonic chord

As a corpse collapsing on a sword

You took me into your embrace

With a smile upon your face

I had descended from the chase

found a diamond in its place
